Alison Huggins

Alison Huggins studied in London before completing her legal training contract at a law firm in Cardiff. She joined Merlin Phillips in 1986 and stayed with the firm through its merger with KTP Solicitors in 2007.

In 2000, Alison was responsible for establishing the firm’s dedicated Older Client Services department.

Alison has specific expertise in advising older clients and finding innovative solutions to handle complex needs, and in particular assisting those entering long term care to establish their rights and deal with funding and asset protection. She has successfully recovered considerable amounts of money for clients where she has proved that assets should not have been taken to fund care.

Alison is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly; a trustee of Age Concern Cymru and is one of only a small number of UK solicitors recognised by the LSC as a specialist in Community Care. She holds the rarely granted Legal Services Specialist Quality Mark in Community Care.

For clients’ convenience, Alison offers home and hospital visits and out of hours appointments.
